All general practitioners and other healthcare professionals in this practice are free to make decisions that affect the management of their patients in accordance with accepted clinical judgement, best available evidence and adherence to valid clinical care guidelines.
We are a private billing clinic. This allows us to maintain a high standard of care. Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Fees may vary based on the nature of the consultation with each individual doctor. Discounts apply for health care card holders and pensioners.
MY HEALTH RECORD
The My Health Record (MHR) is a digital summary of a patient's medical record that can be shard securely online between the patient and the healthcare providers that they visit. Our practice is able to upload to your My Health record.
RECALL AND REMINDER SYSTEM
Our practice maintains a system to remind patients of routine tests, checkups or other preventative health issues via SMS or letter. You may choose to opt out of this service.
When our practice is closed, you can call our locum service the National Home Doctor Service on 13 74 25, who offer a bulk billing home doctor service. A visit summary is sent to our clinic to incorporate in your patient history for continuity of care. In the case of an emergency, patients should dial 000.
Here at Viewbank Family Medical Group our consultations are by appointment, urgent consults can usually be accommodated with our flexible booking system.
Patients can request to see their preferred GP or member of our health care team and our team will endeavour to achieve this request, however this is not always possible and our receptionist will suggest an alternative.
Some consultations require a longer appointment please inform receptionist when making your appointment so enough time can be allocated.
FEEDBACK AND COMPLAINTS
We are always interested in receiving feedback regarding our service. Your suggestions and input into how we can improve our service is always welcome. Please feel free to discuss any concerns you have with your GP, our practice manager or reception. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. A complaints/suggestion box is situated in our waiting room, if the issue cannot be resolved you may contact the Health Complaints Commissioner, Level 26, 570 Bourke Street, Melbourne 3000.

Patients are asked to make an appointment for results of investigations unless advised by your GP. Reception staff are not permitted to give results.
Although most problems are best dealt with in a consultation, patients of this practice may contact their GP by telephone. However, when the GP is in a consultation, you are welcome to leave a message and your GP will endeavour to return your call at the end of their session.
The doctors at the Viewbank Family Medical Group endeavour to keep to their appointment schedules. However this is not always possible, due to a variety of reasons including, emergencies, earlier consults running over their booked time or extra family members being squeezed in. Reception will notify you if your GP is running behind and when possible offer you an alternate. You are also welcome to phone the clinic prior to your appointment to check on wait times.
